Possibly, but we can’t promise it, and we aren’t named yet ourselves. In Answersky’s Oct 14, 2026 check of its own site, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity named Answersky in 0 of 54 answers. In our Oct 15, 2026 B2B test, though, each service group’s 8 answers named about 41 or more different firms, and many of those firms came up in only one of a group’s answers.
We’re Answersky (answersky.com), a new company that sells AI-visibility checks, and every figure here comes from our own tests, with the date and method beside it. We never publish the names AI gave, only counts.
Can a new company get recommended by AI?
Nothing we’ve measured says no, and nothing we’ve measured says yes. AI assistants name a lot of businesses when a buyer asks who to use, and the names change from one answer to the next. Neither fact tells us whether a new company can get onto a list.
We counted how many firms each answer named and how often they came back. We did not record how old or how big those firms were. So the honest answer is that we don’t know: we have no test that shows a new company getting named, and none that shows it can’t.
What do the lists look like in our tests?
Here are figures we’ve already published, each with its test date and source.

How much did the names change between repeat answers?
Quite a lot. In Answersky’s Oct 15, 2026 test, each question was asked twice, and about 60% of the firms named for a question appeared in both answers, pooled across all 28 questions. We counted firms named in both answers, divided by firms named in either one, added up across the questions. The other firms appeared in one answer and not the other.
That measures how stable the answers were. It isn’t a reading on new companies, because we didn’t record firm age or size.
The share of one-off names varied by kind of firm. In Answersky’s Oct 15, 2026 test, marketing agencies had the largest share of firms named in only one of the group’s 8 answers (about 25 of 52), and sales consulting firms the smallest (about 12 of 41).
Firms named in only 1 of a group's 8 answers
Answersky's Oct 15, 2026 test: a leading AI assistant, with web search. Approximate counts.
- B2B marketing agencies
- 25 of 52
- Cybersecurity and compliance
- 23 of 58
- ERP and CRM implementation
- 19 of 50
- Operations and management consultancies
- 25 of 73
- Startup accounting
- 17 of 52
- Sales consulting
- 12 of 41
The study counted how many of a group’s 8 answers named each firm. It did not judge whether an answer recommended a firm, and the assistant had been told to name specific firms where relevant. So a count here is a name appearing in an answer, not an endorsement.
Is Answersky named?
No. Our Oct 7, Oct 12 and Oct 14, 2026 checks all came back empty (rows above), and on Oct 15, 2026 Claude with web search, asked separately and twice, named Answersky in 0 of 28 answers. No later check was on our log when we wrote this. We won’t present zeros as progress.
Our Sep 30 baseline and Oct 7 check used different setups from the Oct 12 and Oct 14 checks, so we don’t compare them as one series, as the log says. And because answers differ from one asking to the next, one check is not a trend; we ask each question more than once so that a single answer isn’t taken for the whole.
What should a new company check first?
These are steps our data points to. We haven’t measured whether any of them gets a company named.
- Say plainly who you serve, on your own site. In our Oct 12, 2026 test, a business’s own website was cited in 82 of 108 ChatGPT and Perplexity answers. In Answersky’s Oct 15, 2026 B2B test, firms’ own sites were cited in about 45 of the 52 answers with sources. More in does AI read your own website.
- Be present on other sites in your field. In Answersky’s Oct 15, 2026 B2B test, other websites (not matched to a named firm or a directory) were cited in 49 of the 52 answers with sources, and review or partner directories in 16. Keep any profile accurate. We wouldn’t pay for a place in a list on the strength of this.
- Ask the question your buyer would ask, more than once. Our guide to what to fix first puts these in order, and what GEO is covers the wider picture. Why ChatGPT doesn’t recommend a business lists the usual reasons for zero.
What can’t this tell a new company?
- We didn’t record how new a firm was. The counts show long lists and changing names, not who gets onto them.
- One assistant, one day each. The Oct 15 test used a leading AI assistant on a single day; the Oct 12 industry study used three assistants. Other assistants, days and apps may differ.
- Our Oct 15 test asked for names. In that test the assistant was told to name specific firms where relevant, which may raise how often it does.
- Small samples. In Answersky’s Oct 15, 2026 test, each B2B group had 4 questions, each asked twice. This shows a pattern, not a ranking.
- A citation isn’t a reason. A cited page was linked in the answer; that doesn’t show it decided who was named.
Nothing here shows that any change will get a business named.
How do I see whether AI names my company?
