How it works
How does an Answersky scan work?
Answersky checks whether AI names your business in answers to buyers' questions: the free AI visibility check covers ChatGPT and Perplexity; the paid AI visibility report covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and adds a score and fixes.

Step 1 of 2The Full Report method
Exactly how do you measure?
Here is the method, exactly as every report states it.
answers that name you
We ask each question in 3 different wordings, once each, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each on its latest model, through their APIs with web search. A one-line setup says the buyer is in the country you pick on the form and asks for companies by name. There's no device location, login or chat history, so the apps can answer differently. Your score is the share of answers that name you. 'Best X' questions count 3×, problem questions 2× and topic questions 1×. Questions that use your name are shown but not scored. Each call is tried up to 3 times. One that still fails is left out of the score, and the report says how many answers it used. Every report lists its questions and wordings, and they stay the same month to month so trends compare.
Which questions do you ask?
The questions your buyers ask, in 3 kinds. They're fixed for each business, so months compare.
"Best X" questions
Asks for a recommendation.
Problem questions
Describes what the buyer needs solved.
Topic questions
Asks about the subject in general.
Why ask each question 3 ways?
Asking the same wording again mostly returns the same lookup, so we ask each question in 3 different wordings, once each: 3 answers per question on each assistant.
Different wordings are how real buyers ask, and they give a steadier number than one answer.
Example: one question, 3 wordings
"…for a local move, Brightlark Movers is a strong pick…"
Do you keep the answers?
Yes. We keep the answer text used in your scan as evidence, and the Full Report includes quotes from it. We keep this evidence for the same period as your report, subject to the exceptions in our Privacy policy.
You read what the assistants actually said, and who they named.
What does the score mean, and what doesn't it mean?
The share of answers that name you, weighted as above, on these questions and assistants, on the scan date.
It means
- How often you're named, on your questions
- On these assistants, on that date
- A real change only when 2 scans agree
It doesn't mean
- Your traffic or search rankings
- What every user sees
- A promise of future results
Scores can vary between scans. We count a change only when two scans agree.
How is the free Quick Scan different from the Full Report?
The Quick Scan tells you whether you're named. The Full Report scores you and lists the top 5 fixes.

How to check if ChatGPT mentions your business.
Full Reports list the sites cited in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answers. We follow Gemini's source links to identify the cited sites. If we can't identify a site reliably, we leave that source out and say how many sources we couldn't identify.
