Privacy

Answersky is responsible for the information you give us. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and how to ask us to delete it.

Effective: .

Your information is never sold.

What we collect

When you request a scan, we collect your email, website address, business name, business type and country, and your city or region if you add it. We also collect the public website content and AI answers needed for your scan.

If you buy a report, we keep the business details you provide with your order and the information needed to run and send your report. We keep messages you send us so we can respond.

Our website hosting and security services process technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver the site and prevent abuse. We also collect cookie-free visit counts through Cloudflare regardless of your cookie choice. With your consent to Google Analytics cookies, we collect additional visit statistics, such as the pages viewed and the type of device used.

How we use it

We use your business details to identify your business, choose the questions a buyer would ask, run the scan and prepare your report and suggested fixes. We use your email to deliver the scan or report and send up to two follow-up emails about your free scan. You can unsubscribe from those follow-up emails at any time.

We also use information to handle orders, answer your messages, keep the service secure and understand visits to our website.

Cookies

We also use cookie-free visit counts that don't identify you; these run without consent. Google Analytics loads only if you choose Accept. You can decline Google Analytics cookies or change your choice through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Declining Google Analytics cookies does not prevent you from requesting a scan.

Who we share it with

We share information needed to provide the service with these categories of recipients:

  • Website hosting and security: deliver the website, store service data and help prevent spam and abuse.
  • Email delivery: send scans, reports, service messages and the disclosed follow-up emails.
  • Payments: handle checkout, receipts and sales tax as our merchant of record. We never see your card numbers. Payment services also handle invoices for Done for you work.
  • AI assistants that answer the scan questions: receive your business name or website, buyer location and scan questions. We never send them your email.
  • AI tools that help prepare and check reports: process relevant website text, AI answers and scan results to help us analyse the findings and prepare and check reports.
  • Visit statistics: Cloudflare provides cookie-free visit counts regardless of your cookie choice. Google Analytics helps us understand website visits only with your consent to its cookies.
  • Private file storage: GitHub holds earlier scan data and report files in a private repository, including its version history.

We may also disclose information when required by law.

AI and your information

We do not use your information to train AI models.

How long we keep it

If we do not deliver a scan for your request, we delete the request and the information stored with it 90 days after you submit it. If we deliver your scan, we keep your request and report for 12 calendar months after delivery, then delete them.

We keep each paid report for 12 calendar months after delivery, then delete it. In our service database, we keep a one-off order's delivery records, including your email address and plan, for 12 calendar months after purchase. For a subscription, we keep the order and subscription delivery records, including your email address, plan and paid-through date, while the subscription is active and for 12 calendar months after it ends, then delete them. We keep separate accounting records as described below. The exceptions below apply to these deletion periods.

Earlier scan data and report files were stored in a private GitHub repository. Copies can remain in its version history after we delete the working files. That history currently has no automatic deletion date, so we cannot promise that these earlier copies are deleted within the periods above or when you ask us to delete your information.

After deletion from our service database, copies may remain recoverable in Cloudflare's database recovery history for up to 30 days.

We use Resend's Free plan to send emails. While our Resend account is active, Resend retains email content and delivery logs for 30 days. Its backups persist for seven days. If we close our Resend account, it deletes remaining customer data within 90 days of account termination. These provider copies may remain after we delete information from our working systems. You can contact us to request deletion of a specific email before the retention period ends.

Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, keeps its own payment, transaction and tax records under its privacy policy and applicable legal requirements. Deleting information from Answersky does not delete records that Dodo Payments is required to keep. You can contact Dodo Payments about its records.

We keep a separate, limited accounting ledger containing internal buyer IDs, order and transaction IDs, plan, amount, date, refunds and fees, along with Dodo Payments payout statements, for accounting and Indian tax requirements. We retain only the accounting information required by applicable law for the required period, then delete it. This does not extend the retention of your scan requests, reports or service delivery records.

If you unsubscribe from follow-up emails or ask us to delete your details, we keep your email address on a do-not-contact list to honor that request. We use this list only to prevent further emails, except to deliver a report you have already paid for. This list has no automatic deletion date and is kept separately from your scan requests and reports.

We keep a limited deletion record containing a salted hash of the email address or record identifier, the deletion date, the reason and counts of deleted records. It does not contain your email address in readable form or your scan or report content. These identifiers can still be matched to records and are not anonymous. We use them to record completed deletions, reapply them if a database recovery brings deleted information back, and finish a deletion that remains pending while a subscription is active. We keep these records while that deletion is pending. Once deletion is complete, we delete the associated records on the first daily cleanup after 45 days have passed since the latest recorded deletion for the same email address or record identifier. After these records are deleted from our working databases, copies may remain recoverable in Cloudflare's database recovery history for up to 30 more days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing the contact address below. To request deletion, email from the address you used in the form. After verifying the request, we will delete your request and related information from our working systems, subject to the retention exceptions described above. If you have an active subscription, we will explain what information is needed to continue the service and help you arrange cancellation if you want the service to end. You can ask us to delete individual reports while your subscription continues. We keep the order, subscription and processing records needed to continue the service, including limited record identifiers that prevent a deleted report from being created again. When the service ends, we finish any outstanding deletion of those service records without requiring another deletion request, subject to the retention exceptions above. We will explain any information we need to retain and why. Database recovery copies, email-provider records, earlier repository history, the do-not-contact list and deletion records are covered by the exceptions above.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your information in a portable format, or complain to your local data protection authority. You can withdraw your consent to Google Analytics cookies through “Cookie settings” and unsubscribe from follow-up emails at any time.

Children

Answersky is a service for businesses and is not intended for children under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at the email address below. We will investigate and, where we hold that information, delete it from our working systems subject to the retention exceptions described above, and explain any information that remains and why.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to those who need it to provide the service. No website or method of sending or storing information can guarantee complete security.

Cross-border transfers

The services we use may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use safeguards for these transfers.

Changes

We may update this policy as our service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
